Nestled into the Lunigiana hills near the Medieval village of Tresana, Villa Matilde is a restored farmhouse that’s cheery inside and out.

Simply unwind in the private gardens overlooking the hills with family and friends, or use the property as a base to explore the area of Lunigiana and surroundings.

Though Villa Matilde still has its classic tiled roof, stone walls and floors and wide hearth, its furnishings bring the villa comfortably into the modern age.
Plump sofas invite you to linger in the two living rooms, the dining table has seating for eight and there’s even a breakfast table in the fully equipped kitchen.
The villa has four bedrooms plus a sofa bed on first floor and two bathrooms with shower.

Set close to the border between Tuscany and Liguria, Villa Matilde is a short drive outside the hilltop village of Tresana, which has medieval roots and the small town of Terrarossa, which has an assortment of supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Take a day trip into Pontremoli or Fivizzano, or to the shores of stunning Cinque Terre in Liguria.

The surrounding area is really rich in places to visit and explore be it the nearby glorious countryside of Lunigiana and Garfagnana with excellent hiking, the Ligurian coast with the Cinque Terre and Portovenere, or cultural cities of Lucca, Parma and Pietrasanta. For anyone who appreciates traditional and unspoilt Italy then Villa Matilde is ideal as here one can truly capture the spirit of rural Tuscany with some superb dining, enchanting medieval towns and some spectacular scenery.

Cancellation
Cancel up to 60 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 60 days of the trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

All credit card holders must be aged 25 years and older at check-in. Villa Matilde is rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. According to Italian law (ART.109 – TULPS), the Hosts and/or managers of any touristic structure are required to register their Guests with the authorities prior to allowing their access to the facilities. In order to facilitate the registration process you will be required to provide complete contact details (name, last name, address, telephone number etc. ), a copy of the passport and the authorization to hold these details in accordance to law (D. Lgs.196/2003) on privacy protection, prior to your arrival at the property.
This information cannot be used to promote, sell, solicit any service or product to you and is required only for the individual responsible of the rental agreement.

While children are welcome, supervision will be due because of no fences or lifeguards.
Heating costs are not included in the price and must be paid directly on the spot to the Host or his/her representative before departing. Please note that heating in Italy, when not subject to restrictions by the local Government, is more expensive compared to other countries. If you look for a property in low season, make sure to ask for an estimate of the heating cost. You may be asked a supplementary deposit for heating expenses. Internet connection could be interrupted due to technical reasons beyond our control. We will do our best to provide support and reestablish the connection however we strongly recommend that those who need access to their emails should bring their own portable devices. Please note that in any case we cannot accept responsibility for lack of these services. If your accommodation is located in the countryside, note that it may be accessible only by unsealed roads and driveways. We therefore advise people intending to take a sports or low-slung car on holiday, to check with us first whether the access to the property allows for such a car. We advise against the use of vans and minibuses.
